MEMBER INTRODUCTION
Melissa Cass Pickett has practiced family law in Texas since 2008. Melissa has a passion for her work that started in law school, when she handled domestic violence cases with a student bar card at the Harris County District Attorney's Office. That law school experience inspired Melissa to become an associate attorney at Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse (AVDA), a non-profit agency that provides family law litigation services to survivors of family violence and sexual abuse. Melissa gained valuable trial experience at AVDA through her high caseload and almost-daily court appearances. Melissa then transitioned to private practice, representing clients in divorce, paternity, child support, and protective order cases. In addition to her litigation work, Melissa serves on a panel of the State Bar of Texas Grievance Committee, District 4. Melissa became Board Certified in Family Law on December 31, 2020.
