BIO for Yasmin Kutty:
Yasmin Kutty is a South Asian divorce lawyer with over twenty-five years of legal experience and is board certified in family law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. She has taken many divorce cases with complex custody and property matters from inception to final trial on the merits. In addition, she has years of experience with both bringing protective order cases and defending them. She obtained her BA from Northwestern University, and JD from Loyola University. Ms. Kutty served as an Assistant Attorney General in New York under Eliot Spitzer and Andrew Cuomo’s administrations. Ms. Kutty recovered over $1.5 million dollars for New York State while serving at the NY Office of the Attorney General between 2006-2010. These were the largest amounts recovered for a regional office at that time. On August 29, 2009, she received a special award and recognition by Attorney General, Andrew Cuomo the former Governor of the State of New York. After relocating to Texas, Ms. Kutty worked at the Texas State Attorney General’s office for two years prior to her opening her family law practice in Sugar Land, TX. Her divorce practice covers primarily Harris County, Fort Bend County and Montgomery County. In addition to her law practice, Yasmin Kutty is heavily involved in community service organizations such as DAYA, the South Asian Bar Association, and the Fort Bend Family Bar Association.
